Médecins du Monde Sweden has had a supportive role in a project in the Nimruz province of Afghanistan. The initiators and main actors of this is the Canadian branch of the Médecins du Monde network (MdM Canada).

The aim of the project was to support primary health care in the rural areas of the Nimruz province (map).

The objectives were to improve the health of the rural population in general, and especially the health of mothers and children, by improving access to health care in the countryside.

Economic support to this project stems from the European Commissions office for Humanitarian Aid (ECHO).
